Wedding Emcee Speech Tips

The Wedding MC Speech: 7 Tips For The Wedding MC For Making An Unforgettable Impression as Wedding Master of Ceremonies At The Wedding Reception…

You’re the wedding emcee and you’ve been asked by the bride and groom to give a speech at their wedding reception.

Whether you’re a close relative, a family friend, or a professional wedding MC here are 7 quick tips to help make your wedding speech a resounding success…

1. Do your background research early. Part of your role as wedding emcee is getting to know the bride and groom. You’ll need information about them so you can prepare your speech and include anecdotes.

What questions should you ask? Start by asking how they met, what humorous stories can they share, and what their interests are. These are all good starting points to gather information.

2. Know the names of all the people you will be introducing, including how to correctly pronounce their first (and last) names.

3. Practice your speech several times before the wedding day. Memorize your opening and closing lines, including the toast.

4. Introduce yourself to the wedding guests so they know who you are and why you’re speaking.

5. Focus the wedding guest’s attention on the bride and groom. After all, it’s their special day and they should be the center of attention.

6. Look at your audience while you’re making your speech. And be sure to look at the bride and groom — especially when you propose the toast.

7. Keep your speech and toast short — maximum five minutes.

With these 7 tips, your wedding emcee speech can be one of the highlights of the wedding reception.
